View Full Version : A Problem With the Naming of the Same Security in Different Accounts

I'm using Quicken 2005. For some time now, I have had a 401k, an ESPP, an
ISO, and an NSO account. I'm using direct connect for the 401k (through
TRowe Price) and the ESPP (through Fidelity). Right or wrong, I've named the
securities (representing my employer's stock) in each of these accounts all
differently. For example:
COMPANY XYZ STOCK FUND
COMPANY XYZ ESPP
COMPANY XYZ NSO
COMPANY XYZ ISO
This hasn't been a problem until I decided to sell some shares out of my
ESPP. I'm not sure why, but the download from Fidelity recognizes the
security as COMPANY XYZ STOCK FUND, so it thinks I'm making a short sale.
Any idea how to straighten this out?
Thanks,
Pete
