Is there any way to get the column totals to display in a journal entry?
Seems like a pretty basic function for an accounting program. There are
many situations where it is a lot less aggravaating to do a JE rather than
doing it Quickbooks' way...

What version are you using?
I see column totals in 2004 and 2005 Canadian versions, Accountant
edition.

They're not there in the US version of QB 2005 Pro.

Totals are in my QB2004 Premier: M & W. Is it possible Pro does not
have them?

????

Using 2003 Pro US.
Column totals for JE are definitely displayed.
I cannot fathom why a function so basic would be removed from QB 2005.

Have you looked at the BOTTOM of the screen -- the line that says "totals"?

I correct myself, I used pro in 2001 -- my 2003 version is premier
contractor edition.

QB 2002 (Canadian) does not have totals in the JE screen (likewise
earlier versions), but later Premier (Canadian) editions do.

If your version does not show totals you can print/preview the entry
to see the total debits and credits.
