layers in host file

Hello,
when i change layer color of an object/entity in my host .dwg file, the
color change is not reflected in the "sheet drawing" file; where the
"sheet file" has the host file xref'd. is this some sysvar control or
yet another Acad bug?

never-mind. found the reason from previous posts about the same
subject, but i still believe this is a bug...
