Help -- Unable to open source file

After a nightmare of Firefox PR uninstalling all my programs, I reinstalled
Quicken 2002 Deluxe. My backup was not good so I started from scratch.
Fortunately since I pay bills through my bank online, my payees, and my
checking registered were somewhat restored.

After a disaster like this, I certainly want a current backup. I am getting
the error: Unable to open source file, backup failed.

I have ordered Quicken 2005 Deluxe which is all the more reason I need a
backup. What is the problem? What can I do?

I installed FF as several betas and didn't have any problems with Q2002
DL. I recently "upgraded" to 2005 DL, and still no problems. FF is now

I have had no problems restoring backups. I do it *all* from within
Quicken. It may make a difference, since you need most of the files in
the fileset. After a disaster like this, I certainly want a current backup. I am getting the error: Unable to open source file, backup failed.

Good to test your backups, by trying to restore them.

From what you are saying, it appears you only keep ONE backup copy! I
guess this is OK if Quicken is a casual piece of software on your PC.

If you consider this data of any importance, you should really keep
multiple copies of your backup so you can go back further rather than
starting over from scratch. If you don't keep multiple backups I am sure
Quicken has kept a few older backup copies (up to 5) in its backup
directory.
