What is the quickest way to draw a line parallel to another line that
are an (aligned) distance apart? The lines are not hor. or vert. I
was able to do it using a circle and offset twice, which created an
extra line that I deleted. Is there a quicker way?

OK, nevermind. I see my mistake. I just do offset once and it does
the aligned distance.

You can also use the parallel Object snap by setting the parallet snap
to on, or by clicking the parallel icon on the object snap tool bar.
Practice this a few times and it becomes second nature.

Or, use multilines - Don't know what you're doing, but if you're
drawing walls or something, you can just draw away and your parallel
offset goes with you.

Years ago there was this clever little lisp, (DLINE?) before the days of
multilines, which would draw double lines. The one advantage I can remember
about it was that you could change the relation of the points clicked to the
alignment of the double lines "on the fly"....you could start out
"justified" to the bottom, switch to center as needed, and go back to bottom
or top within the same sequence.

With multilines you'd have to create some constructive geometry in advance
to pull of the same thing. Of course, multilines have other "cleaning up"
advantages, and will do more than 2 lines at a time, and....
