SchemaCrawler is a new schema diff tool on Sourceforge.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/schemacrawler
It can display the schema in a text format (plain text, CSV, or HTML),
designed for diff-ing. This is especially useful in diff-ing an older
and newer version of a schema. It is written in Java (platform
independent), and runs from the command line, or as an ant task.

Please do not post spam to our groups. If you have something to sell
please do so at c.d.o.marketplace. You owe this group an apology.
And yes I know for a fact this is promotional spam because you posted
the exact same message at c.d.sybase and c.d.ibm-db2 so it was not
posted in response to any previous inquiry about Oracle.
I urge everyone to not use this tool, or even investigate its
capabilities, until the spammer apologizes and agrees to abide by
usenet rules.

2. Nobody "owns" groups on Usenet.
3. Perhaps you should consider moderated newsgroups? Please look at:

Ya, Daniel. That wasn't spam. He was posting a reply to another message.
Although... the message he supposedly replied to was posted over 6 years
ago! Hmm... maybe it was spam after all.

Usenet groups have charters. Charters are rules. Try reading one.
If you wish to be rude that is certainly your choice. Generally
speaking, however, people do not do business with companies that
insult them and then don't apologize.
Apparently losing face is not an issue for you.
I hope losing potential customers isn't either.
You may conclude that you are correct. But it won't get you any business.

No he wasn't. He posted the exact same, IDENTICAL, message to
c.d.ibm-db2, to c.d.sybase, and to c.d.ms-sqlserver. If it had
only been on a c.d.oracle group I'd agree with you. The fact
that the exact same message (cut and paste) was in all four
groups clearly states that it was intended to promote a product.
That, by definition, is spam.

Look, I was looking for a tool that could do schema diffs, and I was
excited to find such a tool on Sourceforge. I wanted to share it with
people who had asked for this kind of tool earlier, both Oracle and
other database users.
If you use the tool, it is not like you are doing business with
Sourceforge, since it is free. I don't know anyone who would profit
financially from it.
You gave me a great idea, though. Instead of posting in excitement
right off, I will post to ask if anyone know of a tool that can do
something. Then, 5 minutes later, I will post that I found such a tool.
Then, you can have no objections.

I agree the post was blatant spam. I was trying to express sarcasm.
Obviously, I missed the mark. Sorry.

Thanks. Sometimes I put <SARCASM> or <EXTREME SARCASM> XML tags on
such postings. ;-) But rereading your post ... the sarcasm is obvious
so perhaps I should have read more closely.

Mr. Usenet Policeman, it is time for you to re-read the charter. You
have spent an amazing amount of bandwidth discussing what consititues
spam on what is supposed to be the Oracle database tools group. Here is
a fine example of the pot calling the kettle black.
