IFIP Working Group 8.6 Conference 2006: The Transfer and Diffusion
of IT for Organizational Resilience

November 3, 2005 - Paper submission deadline
February 2, 2006 - Acceptance notification
February 15, 2006 - Final copy

Selected conference papers will be published in the Journal of
Information Technology (JIT), Special Issue on Diffusion of IT for
Organizational Resilience, March 2007 print publication date.

Theme: the conference will be hosted by the Centre for Innovation
and Structural Change (CISC) at the National University of Ireland,
Galway. The conference focus is on how IT innovation can contribute
to making organizations more resilient. Commercial organizations
are trying to make sense of the competitive environment and quickly
generate new strategic options. Public organizations are struggling
to meet societal needs for innovative information services.

IT staff have spent much of their energy improving transactional
efficiency. IT now needs to be seen as a positive force for making
business innovation resilient. We invite the submission of papers,
panels and posters to the upcoming IFIP Working Group 8.6 Conference.
The conference focus is on how IT innovation can contribute to making
organizations more resilient.

Types of Submissions Sought
We welcome a range of approaches from theoretical to experiential.
Reports from practitioner experience and case studies can help us to
frame issues at all levels. The conference welcomes full research
papers (5000-8000 words), short practitioner experience reports
(1200-1500 words), and panel proposals, as well as poster presentations
and exhibits.
