I know there's a clearcase.el file around. We use ClearQuest integrated
with ClearCase, meaning when we check out or check in, we have to give a
defect number.

Does anyone know a good solution for this?

Thanks.

Suppose you have checked if something exists? Vendors site,
sourceforge.net, and of course google?

If no luck, you may adopt some exiting code. Just now I am
investigating an emacs intgration for Telelogic Synergy (formerly
Continuus). Synergy also has the concept of tasks/defect numbers. The
integration can show which is selected, but I have to open a Synergy
GUI to change it.

It work, but could be smarter. In fact I like better a hacked version
of standard vc.el, that a co-worker has made for the version system we
are quitting. So maybe another hacked vc.el would be the solution for
us.

Good luck with your search.
