View Full Version : Q2005 Australian Edition Dividend Income
I'm trying to work out an issue I have with Q2005. In my previous
(2002SE) version this worked perfectly.
When entering dividend Income I enter the appropriate amounts into
Franked, Unfranked and Imputation Credit. As a transaction in a
transaction upgraded when 2005 was installed. This is shown as:
Franked shows as "Div"
Imputation Credit shows as "MisExpX"
Unfranked shows as "DivUF
The category of the imputation credit is shown as "_Tax Credit"
The resultant TAX reports shows everything as you expect with these
transactions.
When I enter a new transaction into Q2005 they are not handled the same
Franked shows as "Div"
Imputation Credit shows as "MisIncX"
Unfranked shows as "DivUF"
The category of the imputation credit is shown as "DivInc:_ImpInc"
Even though Franked is shown the same way as the other transactions it
is not shown in the TAX report! Imputation credit disappears into an
"Imputation Credit" account under "Property & Debt" and never makes it
into the Tax Report. Only the Unfranked Dividend appears in the Tax
Report correctly.
At the moment this is causing me lots of pain I only upgraded to 2005
because Quicken refused to give me a new Subscription code for share
price updates for the 2002 version. I subscribe so have the version
anyways.
Any ideas what has happened here and how to fix it???? Under this
version I cannot seem to even be able to change transaction categories
easily either for posted transactions. Not that I would want to have to
change every Dividend transaction anyways. The Quicken Australian
Knowledge base does not seem to have anything to help and I don't see
any patches for 2005
Thanks

I can't begin to understand your problem/situation from a tax
standpoint - have my hands full with the US version.
If I do understand correctly, you have a category that is not being
reported in the tax reports. First place I would look is the 'Tax Line
Assignment' for that particular category. In US version, the tax line
assignment controls if/where a category is included in the tax reports.
Perhaps something got dropped in the upgrade process.
