Any legal problems with buying AutoCad used? Can we save some money by
buying a used copy and then trying to get a discount buying "upgrade"
versions?

As I understood Adesk doesn't allow to sell lcienses and upgrades the
registered owner only..

...besides this only the most current AC versions can be upgraded!
Everything older than AC14 (included, or is it AC2K already?) cannot
be upgraded any more and needs to be new purchased *lol*

A few years ago Autodesk basically took away the right of a purchaser to
re-sell their software. Once you buy and register it you cannot sell it
used.

Ocassionally you see bargain copies that someone has purchased but not
registered, but beware of Juarez.

It's been more than a few years ago, hasn't it? Licensing the use of the
software has pretty much been their practice.

Last month, I took possession of some AutoCad 2000, R-14, and civil/survey
disks from work in original packaging: I took the time to write Autodesk a
note to find out what had been registered. The two 2000 disks had not been,
so I promptly listed them on ebay, only to be slapped on the wrist and the
auctions taken off line. Upon writing Autodesk again, I found (to my
amazement and shock) that since I am not an "official" AutoCad reseller, I
"can not" sell even unregistered versions of Autocad! I had no intentions
of making copies at all, I just thought I could make some money by selling
unregisterd disks with original packing and books. I guess Autodesk has
gotten greedy to say the least....
