I used Cad2Shape dll product to make access to:
1. Layers within the Dwg/dxf file. It could be listed with it's status
(On/off)
2. Cad Blocks Names and identify the ones with attributes
3. Block Attributes attached to each block
4. Drawing file extent (Max/Min)
These information could be used in any stand alone software so it is
so convienient for development process.
It is about $200 AUSI dollars so it is very cheap in compare with
others availabel in market
