View Full Version : Is it possible to save *.dwg file as read only?

Greetings:

I am wondering if it is possible to save a *.DWG file as read-only, so
it makes harder to alter the contents of the drawing. Something like
Acrobat security options allowing people printing, marking it up but
not able to modify it in anyway without a pwd.

Setting the Read Only attribute in Windows is about as good as doing nothing
at all. Even if the recipient doesn't know how to set it back to Read-Write,
all (s)he has to do is to load the file in AutoCAD, edit it and then SAVEAS
to a different filename or location. About the only way to "protect" a .dwg
file will be found here:
