news:pan.2003.11.09.15.44.47.446747@nospam_evtek.fi... Hello listers, I was just wondering if it was just my setup, or is the latest Graphics Suite (v. 11) really highly unstable on both MacOS X and Win XP? If so, does anyone know if Corel's planning to address this issue (if I remember correctly, it's been quite a few years since GS 11 came out)
since you didn't deem it necessary to spell out what you mean by "unstable",
I'd say it's your system. and it has not been "a few years" since v11 came
out. "Few" means 3, BTW... it's been out less than 2 years.

Working for years now with Corel 10 and 11 professionally, I'd say Corel is
unstable, more than comparable Softs by Adobe e.g.
On good systems where everything else is fine, Corel 10 with all Service Packs
and enough memory crashes 1-2 times a day in average. There are many mistakes
in puncto textsupport, pictures and color that can lead to crashes or bad image
settings.
Besides that it's an very effective software

I've heard about the uneven support of various features for scripting.
A few weeks ago I was considering upgrading from PhotoPaint 8 to
version 11. For various reasons, including the reduced support of
CorelScript, I went with upgrading to Draw 9. About $45 US vs about
$100 US. I just didn't see that much extra in PhotoPaint between
version 9 and version 11. If you don't need all the latest bells and
whistles, you'd probably be very happy with the quite stable
PhotoPaint 8, which comes in the Draw 8 package for about $20 US, at
least in my city.
