What CPU and RAM do you have, and what OS are you running? All this makes a
difference.

Margaret

news:_o2Ka.3516$ZS3.698691@news2.telusplanet.net... I am very disappointed with my upgrade to Quicken XG. Despite claims from Intuit that it is faster, it is so slow it is not worth working with
except I have nothing else. I have timed each entry at 25 seconds from the time
I hit enter until I can input the next entry. XG "refreshes Quicken Data" between entries. Does anyone know what is going on?

I have a 400 Mhz Pentium II with 256 Mb RAM, operating Win98.
Thanks.

256MB RAM or not, a PII is an awfully old machine. As a computer
professional, I tell my clients not to mix old and new hardware and
software. Generally speaking, if you're going to use an old machine, you're
just not going to be happy trying to run new software on it. Similarly,
don't buy the latest P4 and try to run a DOS version of Quicken on it!
Sorry to have to break the bad news, but you've had more than your $$ worth
out of that old box.
Regards,
Margaret
