Hi Mel!

I have no answer to your question, but I am also very intrested in
this question. We are facing the same issues as you have pointed out.
That is, when we delete a file that was included in an old labeled
version this file is not included when getting the old vision.

It is really strange that a version control system cannot retrieve old
versions of an application. Isn't that the MAIN purposes of this type
of software ?!?!

I really do not like PVCS at all. It't behaves very strange in many
cases.
For instance:

- If I retrieve the latest version of some software it does not detect
if I have old files that should be deleted.
- Braching is a pain. You can only make brances for separate files not
for whole directories.
- I think the directory structure behaves weird. Especially when
several different users add files from their local harddrives. You
usually have to enter your workspace directory every time you check
out something or it ends up in the wrong place.
- It's quite slow.
- ...

Hopfully we will change to CVS and get rid of this usless
software...or perhaps someone can enlighten me...

/Olle
