CVS commit using unreliable connections

Hi,

if I use "cvs commit" using some unreliable connection which breaks
during the process, what is the result? Do I have a corrupted
repository? Do I need my backup? Or can I fix damages?

Tried to find some field reports on this (scenario should not be *that*
uncommon), but with no result.
