View Full Version : SCM tool
Greetings:
We're in process of evaluating a SCM/Release Management tool for a
global team. Some of the names considered are Kintana, Serena
ChangeMan, CA's Harvest etc. (Is anything else available in the Market
?)
Has anyone done any benchmarking with these thirdparty tools or any
other similar product ?
Thanks for your insights.

Dwain,
Thanks for the suggession.
We do use Clearcase/Clearquest as our primary SCM tool. But CC
doesn't suit for Database objects and XML type files. It would be
nice if a tool can integrate with CC and help with non-source
code/object code releases.

If by "global team" you mean a team whose members sit all over the globe, you should add Clearcase/MultiSite to your list. It seems such an obvious cho ice one wonders why it was considered already. Something left unsaid here? Dwain Joe wrote: Greetings: We're in process of evaluating a SCM/Release Management tool for a global team. You should look at Perforce also - very fast even over a WAN - viable over
slow links as well - has support for many platforms UNIX various, Windows,
MVS USS, MPE/IX, AS400 etc.
