Greetings.
I've got a service that quits and restarts itself. I know some
services stop and start on their own but when that happens they don't
usually log an Event. This happens multiple times per day and everyone
must log back into the webapp to continue. (Win2K Server SP3)

Export from Event Viewer:
Date: 8/5/2003 Time: 9:18:18 AM
Source: FlowPort Server
Type: Information Category: None
Event ID: 109
User: N/A Computer: FLOWPORT1
[FlowPort Server] has exited with exit code: 143 - restart code is:
0

Does anyone know where the 'exit code: 143' came from (OS or App)?
I cannot find anything specific about 'exit code's at MSFT and the web
is really light as well.

Best regards,
michael

Most probable source is the application itself unless you really
have "[FlowPort Server]" in some definition that the operating
system knows of. As for what the code means it can be something
service specific or it might be an Win32 error code that is just
passed on. If so then this may give a clue:
C:\>net helpmsg 143
The system cannot join or substitute a drive to or for a directory on the
same drive.
