I have uses Quicken since DOS days and have always found one thing
lacking that I really would like to have.
In an investment account, is there a straightforward way to record the
maturity date of a term investment such as a bond, cd, etc. and get a
report listing the maturity dates in order?
Thank you.

Thank you John,
I am using 2002 and think a while ago I tried the method you described.
It seems I remember that it messed up my account balances and for that
reason I didn't adopt it. It may have been some other reason but I will
give it another, careful, shot.
Thanks again.

You do not say what version of Q you are using now, but you can get what you want in Q2002 (and I believe Q2001 and Q2000). Investment accounts have an "Action" called "Reminder". Enter a "reminder" transaction for each security whose maturity date you wish to track. Give the transaction the date the security matures. Enter the name of the security in the Description field. With the register open: File > Print Register Give the report whatever title you want. Select a date range starting with the first maturity date thru the last maturity date, then print.
