Alex Molochnikov

Hello everyone,

We are looking for beta-testers for our new product - Scribe Report
Generator. At this moment, Scribe supports 6 relational databases, including
Oracle, MS SQL Server 2000, and Sybase.

Very briefly: Scribe is written in Java, is based on visual programming and
can be extended by adding user-written Java classes; it comes with the API
library to let other Java-based apps run Scribe reports programmatically.

The details are on our website: www.gestalt.com/Scribe (temporary location).

User: guest

We offer a free license to everyone who provides us with a feedback on bugs,
inconsistencies, or constructive criticism that helps us refine Scribe.

Please respond to: scribe<at>gestalt<dot>com

Regards,

Alex Molochnikov

Thank you for coming out in my defence, but this is not necessary. Daniel
Moron already made a complete round asshole of himself by "combating" my
posts, while conveniently ignoring the real spam of "My little sister..."
type - because even an idiot like him is capable of realizing that real
spammers will never honor him with any kind of response.

Also, I made a resolution to never respond to any of those imbecils that are
not capable of doing creative work on their own, but cannot stand it in
others. However, I will (and do) respond to any post that offers a feedback
on the merits/failings of Scribe.

You are a known spammer. And as I have pointed out before ... a
hypocrite for posting with a fake email address.

Which part of "for our new product" eludes you?

Reference lines under a signature are not a violation of
usenet rules in any usenet group. Try to learn something
rather than making it up as you go. One might also note,
if they cared to be objective, that the two lines
below my signature are for a program that required a
student register by October of last year. Hardly a great
marketing ploy.

Where are these rules written down? Nowhere? Who is the one making
up rules as you go? You or me? You are making up rules that allow
you to do whatever you want -- posting links to a money-making
enterprise -- while prohibiting others from mentioning free tools
they want to share with others?
One might also note,if they cared to be objective, that the two linesbelow my signature are for a program that required astudent register by October of last year. Hardly a greatmarketing ploy.

Then why are you posting it? Don't bother answering because
it makes no difference in principle.

"Oracle" is a company. "Oracle" is also a product. The "Oracle"
in comp.databases.oracle.tools does not mean Oracle the company.
It means Oracle the database. That is why it is under the
comp.databases.* hierarchy. If it was Oracle the company it
won't be in the comp.databases.* heirarchy. And that means
oracle.tools does not mean tools made by Oracle the company, it
means tools made for Oracle the database.

Try learning that you are the one making up the rules. They are
written down. check the FAQs.
http://www.faqs.org/faqs/
and this about netiquette
http://www.psg.com/emily.html

They are also written in the MANY threads like this in these groups,
so look back in GOOGLE and you'll find this pattern:
1. A spammer, like you posts an off topic message. Often this is the
first post from this person in these groups
2. one or two regulars in the group reply, mentioning .marketplace as
the appropriate place.
3. the spammer gets all hot and bothered that they have the RIGHT to
post anywhere
4. more regulars reply, most pointing out that no this is still not
appropriate.
5. steps 3 and 4 repeat until the spammer either learns his lesson
(yes some do) or leaves.

The length of these threads is up to you.
One might also note,if they cared to be objective, that the two linesbelow my signature are for a program that required astudent register by October of last year. Hardly a greatmarketing ploy. Then why are you posting it? Don't bother answering because it makes no difference in principle.

go back and read the charters of these groups. Just do a search in
google, restricted to the comp.database.oracle.* hierarchy for the
word charter.

or do I have to email them to you????

marketplace is where your post belongs.

And a final comment: have you considered the possibility that
your continued need for beta testers is directly related to the bad
will you create by posting off topic?

Bagieta,

You _did_ make me laugh... although I was not the intended audience.
However, you are wasting you time trying to reason anything out with Sybrand
Barker, Daneil Moron and their likes. These are members of the Mutual
Admiration Club, and they seriously believe that:

1. the status of the "old timer" is equivalent to a Badge of Honor;
2. Oracle NGs belong to them;
3. their judgement of who can post what and where is flawless and must be
accepted by everyone;
4. they and they alone determine what "spam" means.
5. the amount of bandwith noise they create by barking up every post they
don't like will scare the "offenders" or convince bystanders that they are
right.
6. the one who has the last word in the argument is the one who won it,
which is why they just can't stop.

When was the last time I was in close contact with this type of mentality...
oh yeah, in Brest, on the USSR-Polish border in 1979 when I was going
through the Soviet customs and watched the border guard search my books on
computer programming and electrical engineering. The guard, too, believed
that he had the right and mental capacity to judge the content of the books
and decide my fate. And he was wearing a badge... Where is he now?

Of special interest is how they decided that a request for help in debugging
(field-testing) an Oracle-related product in its entirety is spam, while
asking for help in debugging an isolated SQL query used in that product is
not.

But this is their unalienable right of the "old timers". Like every Big
Brother, they know better.

No. That the status of someone that has never made a single contribution
to the group is ZERO.

And that the status of a spammer is less than that.

When it comes to being a contributor to these groups you are like a
eunuch in a harem; you may know how it's done, you may have seen it
done every day, but you are unable to do it yourself.

Alex, you seem to have confused me with Daniel. I'm the one who
maintains the status of the "old timer" is equivalent to a Badge of
Honor. I'm in the minority there, as the general feeling is that
posts should be evaluated on their own (within the context of a
thread).

This means even spammers can redeem themselves. And Daniel is correct
about zero status.

Hey, no insulting eunuchs now. We might get that eggy-weggy guy's
panties in a bunch. :-)

Interesting
You think you are only one person who can give Oracle advices... hah. Not at all. But I do believe, based on experience, that you can't give
any. -- Daniel Morgan http://www.outreach.washington.edu/ext/certificates/oad/oad_crs.asp http://www.outreach.washington.edu/ext/certificates/aoa/aoa_crs.asp damorgan@x.washington.edu (replace 'x' with a 'u' to reply)
