Please, I would like to know if oracle could be said to be a programming
language?

no
SQL might be considered a programming language.
PL/SQL would be for sure a programming language.

SQL certainly is a programming language. Is it general purpose? No,
but that's not the issue. There are many custom programming languages.

ORACLE could at most be considered a programming environment, but
never a programming language.

So Nick, what class are you taking that you need ot know this?

From my perspective any programming "language" where every statement
is executed once & only once for each invocation is a sorry excuse
for a programming "language"; but yes SQL can be programmed to do
useful functions.

FLip side - any language which requires avoiding good mathematical set
theory ... :Q

I suppose you can do some useful things in languages like Perl, C, Java,
Visual Basic and their derivatives ... But look at the cost to society:
we've created new Billionaires just trying to cover up the mistakes created
by the previous set. At least with SQL you have to think for a while
before you make a mistake <g>

But consider the efficiency! SQL can do in ONE statement what other
languages require anywhere from a dozen to hundreds of statements.

Enjoy!
