View Full Version : Quicken 2004 - Opening Multiple Data Files
I use multiple data files - each for a different family member.
In the past I have setup desktop shortcuts to each person's data file so
that Quicken would open to each person's file. With Q 2004 Deluxe that no
longer works. No matter which data file shortcut I use Quicken will only
open to the file that was open when Quicken was last shut down. Has anyone
else experienced this problem - is it another bug to report?
I also have the backup overwrite warning message which is particularly
annoying.

Should work - sounds like a syntax problem in your short cut. If
your shortcut is to the Quicken executable, you probably need double
quotes around everything. An alternative is to make the shortcut(s)
directly to the .QDF file(s) only.

Work fine for me. Make sure the shortcuts reference the file names, not the program
name.

The shortcuts are the same ones I've been using with Q2003 and point to the
data files. I just reset the QDF extension in the file type definitions
and now the links work properly. Thanks.

What I'd like to see is the ability to open multiple files in Quicken, so
you can toggle between them.
