Has anyone been here already ?
I thought that I'd try the new version of Quicken since on the box it states
" 60 day money back guarantee". Before buying it at CompUSA (Salem, NH) I
showed it to the manager, told him that I wanted to try it, and asked if
they'd honor that statement. He said 14 days - not 60. Fine, I'd know in a
few days whether or not I like it - that was Monday (Labor Day). I installed
it Tuesday night and did NOT like it - the fonts are too small. Too many
windows on the screen rather than just ONE that I can read, so I knew right
away that it was going back. SO, I went back to CompUSA today (Saturday) to
return it. I'm now told that the return is subject to a 15% restocking
charge. I explained that he told me 5 days ago that I could return it within
14 days and now they want to keep $12 of my $79.99 ! I know, I didn't ask
if I would get 100% back, but by saying that I could return it , I took that
as meaning "for a return of my cash". He then said "it says so right on the
receipt", which to be honest, I had not looked at. I was handed the receipt
AFTER I BOUGHT it.
He said that if I didn't like it I should contact Intuit directly. I left
with the box and that's what I'll do.
I'm going to quicken.com or intuit.com to investigate the refund.
Anyone else done this ? Have a contact ? How'd you make out ?

Thanks for the link - anyone done it ?
I did go there and read the details. I THOUGHT that I would need to get an
authorization from them first, but perhaps not. After reading , I selected
the "not sure" button on their survey. It asked for my input. I said that
"I was unsure if I need to contact them first for an RMA", clicked submit
and got:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
- <qdbapi>
<action>API_AddRecord</action>
<errcode>71</errcode>
<errtext>table size limit exceeded</errtext>
<ticket>1_878efam7_6aca_ds3q2mzbgyvt7k6wg5nzv7jphk</ticket>
</qdbapi
Their quality of service seems as good as I remember - which was why I left.

I returned Q2004 to Costco and they took it back .... no problems. I had
read about certain feature that looked good but when I tried to convert from
M2003, I realized , like others, that the conversion process takes days and
probably a PhD in computer science. You gotta give MS credit. They make it
real easy to convert to from a competitors product. Shouldn't Intuit?

Smart move. I have yet to have Costco give me a tough time in returning
anything in the software line. Got turned off by CompUSA several years ago
and would not step in store if they were giving it away (rest assured that
will not happen).
