My wife, who owns own accounting business, is trying to teach herself
Quicken Deluxe 2003. She put in an incorrect opening balance and now the
program seems to be ignoring any attempt to correct the amount. How or
where can you change that amount.

HELP! I'm an educational computing specialist and she's figuring I should
be able to figure this one out!!!!!

Seems to me (still using Q2002 DL, US) that you can always put in a
transaction labeled correction, dated at the opening balance date,
adding or subtracting the required amount.

FWIW, I can change the opening balance in a savings account in Q2002,
just tried it.

More detail please. What steps is your wife taking to modify
the opening balance, and what *exactly* does Quicken do.

You should be able to select the transaction in the register,
modify the amount, press enter, and ignore the warning message
(Click "yes", you do want to "record a transfer back into the
same account").
