A quick question on Q2004 - I want to open the program witn the Investing Center/Portfolio
Tab opened. I changed it to open with Investing Center, but it default to either Today's
Data or Performance tab. Cannot see any option to tell it to default to Portfilio View
when it opens.
Any suggestions?
Charlie

I have QP2004 set to open to the Expense/Income tab on Quicken Home. In the
options, I specified start with "Quicken Home." I manually selected the
Expense/Income tab and then did a backup before exiting. Quicken now always
starts right where I want it.

Regards,

Margaret

Well, it doesn't seem to work for me. Here's what I just did. I have it set to open on
the Investing Center. It defaults to the second tab "Performance". I manually selected
the "Portfolio" tab, did a backup and then exited. When I restart the program, it goes to
Investing Center, but opens with the Performance tab selected. What am I doing wrong!
Thanks
Charlie

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I just reconfigured Quicken to
open to the Investing Center. Quicken now opens to the Investing Center but
defaults to the Analysis tab! I tried changing it to the Portfolio, backing
up and then exiting. Quicken still opens to the Analysis tab. Since your
Quicken defaults to the Performance tab and mine defaults to the Analysis
tab, there's something screwy happening. The question is, what? In
previous versions of Quicken it was possible to "Save Desktop." Seems like
we need this option back.... Either that or we need *two* options for
startup, Center and tab (to open to).

Sorry I wasn't able to help,

Margaret

Investing Center opens up to the last tab that was opened inside of it. So
if you want it to default to portfolio, then make sure the portfolio is what
it was on when you moved off of it.

The program allows you to open to a tab on the account bar in options, but
the center intself is supposed to remember what tab in that center you were
on. If I set it to portfolio, exit and relaunch quicken, then go to the
investing center, it is on the portfolio.

If I set the option to open to investing center, it will open to the
analysis tab and not the portfolio, so I would say it is a bug.
