Hi all-
I have a complimentary set of discs from an Oracle conference that I
would like to install on my linux machine from Oracle that includes the
10g database, app server, and development tools (JDeveloper, etc.).
I have only the one Linux machine on which to do the installation, and
was wondering if it's possible and permissible to install everything
under one machine (permissible meaning that the apps all play nicely
together).
I have already installed the database, but nothing else. It's running
okay but am not sure what the next step is in terms of installing.
Thanks for any info,
Ron

Please do not cross and multipost. You will waste bandwith, and won't
reach a bigger audience.

Yes. Needs a healthy machine, though.

Install the next 'thing'. Run the installer on the disk for the product
you want to install. Just make sure each product has it's own Oracle Home.
Personally, I'd skip the app server entirely if you put the developer
suite on the machine. The app server is pretty heavy, and for learning
purposes most of it's functional pieces are built into the appropriate
dev tool.
However, if you want to progress past exploration and simple development,
you neeed to consider the app server - on it's own machine!
