View Full Version : Quicken 2004 Premier Bugs

I liked Quicken 2001 very much and thought 2004 would have everything
and more, but I am very disappointed. It is by no means ready for
release. These are the bugs I found in just a few hours of using it,
and I'm sure there are more. Thankfully I kept a backup of my Quicken
2001 data so I can uninstall 2004 and go back to 2001 which data file
is about half the size of the one it created in 2004.
- When calculating an amount in a transaction, if you use the mouse
and click the buttons, you get the correct answer, but if you use the
keypad, you get the wrong answers. For example, keying in .025*54
yields 1.62 instead of the correct 1.35. Similarly if you key in
..025*240 the answer should be 6 but 2004 says it's 7.20. This is
simply unacceptable; how can I trust it? Yes, I could use the
Calculator on the tool bar, which yields correct answers using either
method, but why should I have to?
- In 2001, I can click Find > Find All and generate a listing from
which I can double-click a transaction to open it in the register. I
can make a change to the transaction, press Enter, and the change is
reflected in the Find report. In 2004, the Find Listing does not
refresh. The data looks exactly the way it did before the change was
made and requires extra sorting or redoing the Find report to refresh
the data.
- From the Home Page, clicking the tabs to change views from Home to
View 1 to First Page and back again a few times yields an error
message and the program shuts down.
- There is no knowledgebase for Quicken 2004. The support page
indicates that they are currently working on updates for Quicken 2002.
(Yes, 2002!)
- When submitting bugs to them on their Feedback page, it asks for the
Quicken version, but there is no "Quicken 2004 Premier" option in
their drop-down menu. Perhaps it is Intuit's way of telling us it
shouldn't exist?

Thanks for the link which does address some issues important Quicken
2004 issues, but unfortunately none of the bugs I am encountering.
When I submitted bug after bug to intuit via their technical support,
a page was displayed stating that should an update arise from my
submission, it would be posted on their knowledgebase and that they
are currently working on 2002. I didn't save the reference and, of
course, I can't get to it now; but if I should come across it, I'll be
sure to post it. Thanks again!
