What's the best way to copy a complete quicken file from one computer to
another?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Do you mean the data files?

With any program, it's a good idea to sort the folders by date, and look at
the newest dates - the ones since you started using it. I usually would
back up any of those, since they must have something that has changed for my
installation. Anything else can be reinstalled. Of course, there's that
pesky registry, but it won't matter for Quicken.

Good point. Sure wish every program included file definitions and
instructions on which files to move over in a reinstall...

Have had at least 4 new computers since starting to use Qkn. Each time
did a backup w/in the program (I usually copy the data file first & then
validate), installed Q on new computer & then did a restore from the
backup. The only other file that I backed up was QHI (home inventory) &
copied that to the data directory for Q. Never have had a problem.
