Using Q2004, must be missing something. In a checking account
register, is there an easy way to see the complete info for an
individual entry, instead of that tiny box for category, etc?
In an investment account, you can click on an entry to see the whole
thing, but that doesn't work in a checking account?
Are you in one line mode?
Options-One Line Display
I see everything no problem. You running in some ultra tiny resolution or
something?

Nope, in two-line mode, on a 19" LCD monitor at 1024 x 768. You can
see the entire category for each transaction, including
sub-categories?

I suspect it has never been possible to guarantee that you could
do this; not even reasonable to expect it. Definitely not in
Q2002. Generally, if you put the cursor in the field and press
"End" it should let you see the remainder of the full
category/sub-category - though even that can fail if the total
length is very long.
Also, in Q2002, the category field is the same size for one-line
or two-line displays. (And it's the investment registers that
have the truely tiny category fields in Q2002).

I'm currently using Q2002.
If my memory serves me correctly (and it doesn't, always!), when
I tried Q2003, the spaces for register entries were noticeably
smaller than those in Q2002.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that I expected this, was just asking in
response to the original reply. In Q2004 I can see maybe the first or
last 6-8 letters of the category (more or less, depending on whether
it's capitalized). If I want to see the whole category, looks like
the only way is to click on Split, then cancel out of that box?
Seems like a waste of that second line, since there's so much empty
space - the visible category and memo fields could have been made
longer...
In 1024x768 I can see 31 characters in the category field. I am running
small fonts. If you are running large fonts 1024x768 gives you less room
than if you were running 800x600. Are you running large fonts?
In 2003, the num field was expanded in the register, so the category and
memo fields got smaller. It is more noticable on smaller resolutions and in
large fonts.

I actually run 1600x1200 small font on a 20" LCD. I figure there is always
lasic if I need it.
