Dear Group

my problem is the following. i wanna use the oracle BI spreadsheet to
include a datawarehouse cube into my excel.

all of my dimensions, cubes and measures will be created by Oracle
Enterprise Manager. It works. after that i am creating an analytical
workspace with the Oracle AWM.

i can validate my cubes and there are no faults.

but no the problem, my created cubes and dimensions would not be shown
in the Selection dialog. mostly, depending on the account, i get an
error messages "no more data on the socket". i think it is caused on
the grants in my system. but user who get access in OracleBI-Excel do
not see my cubes.

if u need more information please contact/ask me.

my bases are
- Oracle9i Enterprise Edition 9.2.0.5.0
- SQL*PLUS 9.2.0.1.0
- Analytic Workspace manager 9.2.0.4.1D
- Oracle Enterprise manager 9.2.0.1.0
- OracleBI Spreadsheet Add-In 10.1.2.0.0 (build 10.1.2.0.36)

thx

sebastian

Hi Sebastian

I think you have some version conflicts.

You need to get to the OLAP patch 9.2.0.5.0B as a minimum for the
Spreadsheet addin 10.1.2.
I would strongly recommend that you skip that and go straight to 9.2.0.6
however. You can get it from Metalink 3948480

If your users have the OLAP_USER role then you should be all set.

Any problems, give Oracle Support a call.

Hope it helps. Kevin (@ Oracle)

thx for your answer. we change the database version into 9.2.0.6. but
the problem had another cause. after deleting dimensions, cubes and so
on with oem, oracle failed by deleting it from the olapsys tables. i
found all my dimensions (new and old) there even though i
dropped/deleted them. after clearing this tables it works fine
