Is it possible to allow a user to have more than one password at a
time. We are in the process of converting a lot of our schemas to
different passwords, but we don't want to have to update all our
programs at once, we would like to gradually do it but the use of
having two passwords at a time.
I assume this is not possible, but I thought I would ask. Thanks.

Schemas have passwords? ( Oysters have legs!! - sorry B.C., could not resist)
Users have passwords and they may or may not 'own' or have access to schemas in Oracle...
But, no, 1 and only 1 password per user...
You could, of course, create new users with the new password and have the users use the one needed for the program they are
using.

Apparently you are using hardcoded username password combo's in
various applications. Obviously this is a security risk. Why don't you
convert to OS-authenticated accounts instead. In that case you don't
need to code anything but a '/' in your app.

Are you too lazy or incompetent to use Google?
Are you incapable or unwilling to RTFM below?

IANAL_VISTA's response is a bit harsh but the point is valid.
What you appear to have done is provide the appearance of
security without any. Go to http://tahiti.oracle.com and look
up security and read the many documented possible solutions.
If you have questions about them and their implementation then
come back with your specific Oracle version number and specific
question.
Right now your system wouldn't make it past a SOX audit if it
qualifies for such concerns.

I think, you should warn OP, that tahiti needs username and password,
and there is horrible registration procedure.
It took me 10 minutes, and 4 tries, with filling registration form, to
get to thaiti.
But finally i found this: http://tinyurl.com/du7zk
