+1 Software Engineering based in Camarillo, California, is pleased to
announce its new product: +1Copybook For Oracle. +1Copybook reads in
COBOL copybooks and converts them into ready-to-use Oracle SQL*Loader
Control Files and CREATE TABLE scripts. +1Copybook is offered both as a
new product and as a new +1 service.
The process to convert copybooks into control files is an intensive,
error prone, and time consuming task. But today with +1Copybook, the
process is automated, detailed analysis is performed, HTML mapping
documents are generated, and overall turn around time when changes are
needed is significantly faster. +1Copybook verifies that all COBOL
copybook columns are used and that all Oracle columns are initialized,
an important check which many DBAs may not normally have time to
perform.
Typically it takes 1-2 weeks to write control files based on COBOL
copybooks. But this task can take longer because a DBA cannot work
just on creating the control files when other higher priority tasks are
present. As such, a 1-2 week task may take 4-6 weeks or more on
average and may impact the overall schedule of the project.
Programmers can be delayed because there is no data in the test
database to work with.
But with +1Copybook and its ability to generate the CREATE TABLE
scripts, DBAs can create tables and begin to load data on the same day
the copybook and the associated data are available. This can speed the
overall project schedule significantly. In addition, +1Copybook works
with +1WebDesc to provide details about the database in HTML.

Camarillo ... isn't that where California's State mental asylum is
located? Perhaps that explains why you think you will attract customers
by being rude and spamming a usenet group in violation of its charter.
Apologize and repost at comp.databases.oracle.marketplace or expect to
be treated with all of the courtesy you've shown: None!

Actually it's the old California State Mental Hospital (Eagles sang
about it as "Hotel California"), which today is the new California
State University Channel Islands. It's an interesting transformation.
I'll repost this announcement in the comp.databases.oracle.marketplace.
We weren't trying to be rude or spamming a usenet group. We were just
trying to inform and educate its users.
Thanks for your comments!

Relational theory is not something that is simply a nice-to-have.
