View Full Version : HP 715/100 'ROM Checksum Error', should I worry?

Recently I bought a used HP 715/100. The machine comes without internal drives, only with internal streamer. I use a software terminal to connect through a serial line. Once power is turned on the machine stops at BOOT_ADMIN prompt, this is fine as there are no boot devices. My main concern is that three amber LEDs 7,2,1 are still on - I found this meant 'ROM Checksum error'. Should I worry that this means this machine is defective? Or can I simply ignore this? I want to run Linux on this machine after connecting external SCSI HDD and CD.
Please help me if you have such a machine and experienced similiar problems. Thanks
