View Full Version : Quicken Citibank direct connect - data is several days behind

I recently started using direct connect to download my Citibank account
data. I had been using webconnect for years. I have found that on several
occasions, the dc data is several days behind. For example, I just
downloaded my data (it is now 7/13/05, at 7AM in NYC). The online summary
says 'no transactions to review. online balance $xxxx as of 7/9/2005 at
8:44AM'. However, there was a transaction yesterday, so my balance is
incorrect. When I used wc, I don't recall my balance ever being incorrect,
and I would have noticed since I was required to access Citibank's web site
in order to download my data. In contract, my Chase data is always up to
date. Right now, my Chase online summary says 'online balance $xxxx as of
7/13/2005 at 5:40AM'. Is anyone else experiencing this issue, or know why
Citibank is four days behind Chase?

Is it a pending transaction or has it actually cleared? Pending transactions
won't download and I have seen ours take up to 4 days to clear.

I have reported this before (NY/NJ area). I still use DC to download
transactions, rather than WC (in Europe WC stands for toilet <grin>.)
Right now I am waiting for my car loan pay-off to get recorded in my
citibank account. Yesterday early morning I did a telephone payment
(phone to a real human at Sovereign bank), but so far it hasn't
registered at Citibank. OK, I'll take the float on that amount <grin
again>.

I thought it stands for "water closet" ... which means the toilet. Hehehh,
couldn't resist. I lived in England from 1972-77, and I do miss it! :-)

It has cleared. Citibank marks current day transactions with an asterisk,
and does not show a balance online after such transactions. Even WC doesn't
download such transactions, which is not surprising. However, DC seems to
lag behind WC in terms of cleared transactions.

DC is a lot more convenient, so I intend to use it. I suppose I'll just have
to get used to a lag between the time transactions clear, and when they are
available for download via webconnect. I was just surprised that webconnect
and direct connect don't retrieve the exact same transactions.
