Hi,

I have a 1350 with win98se. I never had splash screen
freezes until I installed the HP software. It is only intermittent
so it is difficult to diagnose. It tends to freeze several times
in a row, then all of a sudden it is fine for a while.

I wanted to troubleshoot Startup Programs.
I noticed that in Startup, if I uncheck HPQTRA08.EXE,
[using MSCONFIG] which is
listed twice, that it rechecks itself upon bootup.

Does this have something to do with the freeze?

I called tech support but they basically said install two
patches, which I have done, and then take out all Norton,
which I had done long before, and then reinstall the software,
which I have already done.

I don't get the popup error message anymore about hpqtra08.

Does this freeze upon bootup have anything to do with the HP
software?

Thanks,

Mark
