I have a compaq presario AMD Athlon XP 3200. My DVD Rom detects all
commercial bought dvds. However when I put a blank disc into my
machine the only make it seems to detect is Maxell DVD+R or DVD+RW.

If I insert any other type for example Datawrite Yellow or any other
make of disc the DVD player does not detect the disc and the system
asks for a disc to be inserted.

Why does this happen?
Can I do anything about it?

Please anybody help

Since it is a read only drive...I would expect it to see anything that
was blank!
