View Full Version : HP f1703 ('17 tft LCD) no screen, two power button blinks

My HP monitor has a no picture problem. When power supply is connected
it is absolutely dead. When I remove power connection for 5 seconds
and plug it back in, the power button blinks blue twice and then back
to dead state.
This isn't a sudden problem, it has been happening over the past couple
of months -- turning monitor off and on would solve problem, but now
it's completely dead, sans the 2 blue blinks.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi Mageweave... That doesn't sound good! Have you tried to wiggle the
video connection from the back of the computer? If no help there, I'd
try the LCD display on another computer (or connect up another monitor
to your computer). If that works, then I'll say it is probably the video
card.
Cheers!

I have had the same issue with BOTh of the F1703 monitors I have. They are
hooked up to a420n Pavilions and the blue light stays on, but they go blank.
Actually the screen is VERY VERY faintly there. HP Tech Support has been no
help. Since my monitors are 13 months old I am screwed, I guess. Funny
thing is, one of the monitors started working again. I do not know why. I
tried updating drivers, switching drivers, changing to my laptop to use the
monitor, all without fail. I came into my office Monday morning and the one
monitor worked. My wife is mad hers does not work, but I guess this mans a
trip to buy another monitor.
Anyone else have ideas?

Sounds like the Inverter is the problem in most case when you have a very faint
image. In some case, it could also be the back light in the LCD itself. Yes.
Your best bad would to find an inverter on Ebay. On the one that starts to work
again, it could be loose connection.
