The technology is defined in IEEE 1284 standard for parallel ports
http://www.fapo.com/1284int.htm
SPP (Standard Parallel Port)
EPP (Enhanced Parallel Port)
ECP (Enhanced Capacity Port)
You can verify this with VERA (Virtual Entity of Relevant Acronyms)

Subject: A+ H/W question
What does EEP stand for?
question 120 (H/W exam, page 42, 220-221.pdf) asks: "Which are valid
types of parallel ports? (Choose 3) EPP, EEP, ECP, USB, Bi-directional
The answer given is EEP, ECP, bidirectional.
I tried looking this up on google, but I pulled nothing up as to what the
acronym for EEP is. I know that they do sell systems with ECP/EEP ports,
but that doesn't tell me what EEP stands for. Another site claims the
acronym for EEP is Enhanced Parallel Port, but I would think it would be
for EPP.
Also, I would think it would be EPP instead of EEP for the question
above. Wouldn't a Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP) be considered as a
parallel port?
I'm just confused with this question. Thanks!
