Hi all
I've got a bunch of older desktops running Linux at a remote site. The
problem is, these machines will hang on reboot if there is no keyboard
connected (there is no option to change this in the BIOS). Does anyone:
a) know if it's possible to create a keyboard wrap plug for Mini-DIN 6pin
keyboard connectors?
b) have a wiring diagram for such a plug?
Any ideas would be welcome
Cheers

Yes, but it's more complex than a plug and a couple of wires. See
question 3.27 of http://www.faqs.org/faqs/pc-hardware-faq/part2/ .
Places like Black Box used to sell the required device, but I don't
know if they do anymore.

The easiest way is to get a card out of an old "clickless" keyboard and put it
in a tic tak box behind the PC It wll report seeing a keyboard.

You could get cery cheap/old keyboards and just saw out the controller.
Gives you a reasonably small "actual" keyboard.
