View Full Version : DDR memory and Dual Channel mode

I have recently built a computer with (what I believe to be) PC2700
DDR memory. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ processor with a 333MHz
Front Side Bus and an ASUS A7N8X motherboard which supports up to a
400MHz FSB.

When my computer starts, a message appears saying "Memory frequency is
166Hz, single channel mode". Does that mean the DDR on my memory isn't
working? Or does "single channel mode" mean something else? I checked
lots of options in my BIOS and none of them seem to have an effect on
that message.

I just want to make sure my memory is working at its full potential
rather than half of its potential.
