I was wondering if someone could help me with the installation of my mother
board. I can not seem to get it to work properly. My mother board is a
cheapo one (brand new though) ECS K7SOM+ and I am having trouble with the
connections from the case to the board.
I will post the information that I have and hopefully someone can help me
out.
There is an ATX power supply (20 pin) connection on the board, I've
installed that correctly because I have fan power and it only can go in one
way.
CPU fan - I installed that correctly because the CPU fan is running
SW1 connector (now this is where I think something might be set up
incorrectly):
This is what it says from the Manual:
Pin 1 - HD_LED_P Pin 2 - FP PWR/SLP
Pin 3 - HD_LED_N Pin 4 - FP PWR/SLP
Pin 5 - RESET_SW_N Pin 6 - POWER_SW_P
Pin 7 - RESET_SW_P Pin 8 - POWER_SW_N
Pin 9 - RSVD_DNU Pin 10 - KEY
This is what I had installed and didn't seem to work:
Pin 1 - H.D.D. LED Pin 2 - +P LED
Pin 3 - H.D.D. LED Pin 4 - -P LED
Pin 5 - RESET SW Pin 6 - POWER SW
Pin 7 - RESET SW Pin 8 - POWER SW
Pin 9 - Nothing Installed on the Pin Pin 10 - NO PIN THERE
If I have done something wrong here could someone please correct me.
So from the power supply I have:
H.D.D LED (takes up 2 pins), - P LED (takes up 1 pin), + P LED (takes up 1
pin), RESET SW (takes up 2 pins), POWER SW (takes up 2 pins).
Also, the tower has USB ports in the front and you can get them functional
by connecting them to the motherboard. The manual says to do the following:
Pin 1 - VREG_FP_USBPWR0 (Front Panel USB Power)
Pin 2 - VREG_FP_USBPWR0 (Front Panel USB Power)
Pin 3 - USB_FP_P0- (USB Port 0 Negitive Signal)
Pin 4 - USB_FP_P1- (USB Port 1 Negative Signal)
Pin 5 - USB_FP_P0+ (USB Port 0 Positive Signal)
Pin 6 - USB_FP_P1+ (USB Port 1 Positive Signal)
Pin 7 - GND (Ground)
Pin 9 - KEY (No Pin)
Pin 10 - USB_FP_OC0 (Overcurrent Signal)
Now the cables I have coming from my case are labeled:
VCC1
GND 1
DATA +1
DATA -1
VCC2
GND 2
DATA +2
DATA -2
Please let me know the proper places to put these cables in.
Thanks for all your help again guys.
Happy Holidays
Dave
