sorry, i didn't state the question properly (in more than one way) - i'm
trying to re-enable the L2 cache

hanging out? (Climate Prediction boards?). I tried to send you an xmas
greeting but the mail address I have for you has been cut?.

All the best,

I tried that with three of these 1.6GHz CPUs and none were stable with it
re-enabled. (They're all in the old brown package.) I think you're out of
luck modifying anything with the new packaging - you can still cut a bridge
but there's no way to rejoin them that I know of - you have to rejoin the
4th L2 bridge to re-enable the extra L2 cache. They'll all run at circa
2.3GHz though, not bad for a £35 CPU.

Ciao...

No three bad & likewise...

Mostly, although I do read the newsgroups too.

I moved back to Pipex for 256/1024 ADSL - usual four initials @dsl.pipex.com

in my case it's woohoo!
256 cache + no problems

although i can't get it stable with fsb over 184 - don't know who's the
culprit yet, could be the vdd(don't have the bios option), ram(although it's
rated ddr400 8-3-3-3 it does have some quirks) or the cpu itself - any clues
on this one?

current settings:
xp 2255Mhz, 166FSB, 1.75V,
1*512 @ 333Mhz ram, 3-2-2-2.5, 2.9V
agp 1.5V
vdd 1.6(supposedly)

i can also get it stable @ 2.3Ghz, 184FSB with 1.8V but with slower ram
timing(8-3-3-3) - which is better in my case ?

thanks
