IBM Travelstar Harddisk Password

Hallo,

ich habe das BIOS Password von meinem Notebook geändert, welches eine
IBM travelstar Festplatte besitzt. Ich kann seither mein PC nicht
starten es verlangt nach einem Harddisk - Password.

Wie kann diese Eingabeaufforderung rückgängig machen oder das password
ändern? Ich habe die Festplatte parallel angeschlossen. Die Platte
wird zwar erkannt aber ich kann nicht zugreifen, weil das Password
fehlt.

Gibt es eine Software die solche Probleme lösen kann?

The fundamental problem with your request is that Thinkpads
get stolen a lot. IBM makes it therefore very hard to circumvect
the HDD password and I fully agree to this policy.

That said, have you tried to give your old BIOS password as
HDD password? Have you tried to change the BIOS password back
to the old one?

If that don't work, my guess is that your only change lies in
proving to IBM that you are the owner of the machine and have
them unlock the disk for you.
