Hello groups:

The fingerprint sensor of my Gateway laptop 450RGH sometimes stops to
sense fingerprint, after using the computer for several hours. In such
cases, I have to reboot the computer to make the sensor work again.

Moreover, in such cases I cannot shut it down or reboot.. it freezes
shortly after logout step. I have to plug off the AC adapter and
remove the battery to shut it down.

The software for fingerprint sensor is "Protector Suite QL,
Ver. 5.1.0, Build 682."

Thanks for any suggestions or similar experiences.

Is it possible to rip out this fingerprint sensor?

Perhaps you should tell our illustrious government that their wonderful
biometric identity card plan is a crap idea?
