Try taking a course in English grammar. Pay special attention to a
device called a "sentence" and how to construct one.

How will that help him to reformat a drive? If you could not
understand the post and you have some useful information, why not ask
him to explain?

Arrogant tossers really are becoming the scourge of newsgroups. Pathetic
dweebs who leap at the chance to be totally rude and arrogant to other
people, from the safety of their homes, and not be at risk of a good smack
in the mouth - which is, nine times out of ten, what one of these pathetic
dweebs would get in the real world if they adopted this attitude in a
one-on-one conversation.

Learn some manners.

Google for KILLDISK. That will do a complete wipe.

Consider simply backing all the stuff you want to keep to CD's or DVD's (or
zip drives...whatever) - then just re-install Windows from bootable floppy
disks (with the Windows CD in your drive, obviously). You will be given the
chance to completely re-format your drive somewhere around this point. Then
just put back all your stuff from the back-ups after your drive has been
formatted and Windows has been re-installed.

I'm no expert, so all this is in newbie/layman's terms. Perhaps there are
better ways to do this, but soon as though the so called experts are being
completely arrogant and rude to you or arguing amongst themselves.....you
may as well do it this way. I've re-formatted a few times doing it this
way - it's not hard. Make sure you set your bios to seek the floppy drive
first. Sorry, but I don't know anything about 'Ghost' type software. I hope
you get it sorted, mate.

Regards.

Not at all. I would never be rude without provocation. To have a go at
someone's grammar is totally uncalled for. If you're happy to read stuff
like that and not put someone in their place for doing it, good for you -
don't expect other people to let it go though.

Correct it by all means. But no need to descend to the gutter to do it.

unfortunately, no. you will have to contact dell portables support for
your type of laptop. as a matter of security we cannot bypass the pw on
the bios. but as long as you can verify that you are the owner of the
system. we can send you information on how to bypass it. sorry, if that
isnt much help. but thats the best info i can provide you.

If you look at the drive manufacturer's web site there is probably a

utility for your drive and LL it. Then FDISK and FORMAT.
That will make it factory fresh

Even after all that rough treatment, it would be possible for someone
who was sufficiently motivated to read data which had been previously
written to the disk.
