Sometimes I will have to keep my PC (small tower design, 1.8GHz
Pentium, several hard drives inside) in a car on very hot days, the
temp may each 120F. The PC will not be operated, it will be just kept
in a box inside along with flat panel LCD display. Time duration for
several days in a row. Are there any technical issues that can lead to
damaging anything?

Hdd: 60C max. Capacitors: 85C/100C max, but will age much
faster if hot. LCD: See manual, likely also 60C max. If you
are sure about these 120F ( ~ 48C), your hardware should
survive. However I suspect that you can get significantly
more, especially if the car is subject to direct sunshine.

My wife antd I both have PCs in ourr cars that crank up in the Florida
sun on a cheap inverter and play MP3s. These are P1 166 class
machines. No heat problems I can report 5-6 years later.
