I need to upgrade the BIOS on my HP Pavilion zt1000 to support El
Torito standard bootable cdroms. Til then I am not able to boot from
cdroms burn w/ this standard (
http://h20004.www2.hp.com/soar_rnotes/ob936/ob936.html ).
The other problem i have is that i dont have a floppy drive for the
laptop. In fact, they only make a USB floppy drive which may or may
not be bootable. What I need to do is make a non-El Torito CD and try
to boot off of that. The problem is that I dont know how to do this.

Does anyone know how to make a non-El Torito bootable CDROM?

Make one with "No emulation" option.

Warning:

According to Mike Richter (King Troll), some sections of the CD-R Faq
are "quite dated" and have "significant errors".
