I have just installed InCD 3.5.20.0 on my sisters Fujitsu-Seiemens Amilo D
8830 laptop but it wont allow me to format any blank CD-RW's. A yellow
circle with a black exclamation mark is displayed ontop of the InCD icon on
the task bar but there is no explanation of what is wrong. According to the
manual if I right click on the icon it is supposed to give me the option to
format the CD but it does not provide that option at all. All it displays is
version information.

Does anyone know what is wrong. Does InCD require special drivers or is this
a conflict with Windows XP (SP1a) ?

I cant find any help for this problem on Aheads/Neros website.

If you have not done so, disable winxp burn fuction:

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services, and double-click
"IMAPI CD Burning", click Stop, then set "Startup type" as
"Disabled".

Check out 'KCK' InCD troubleshoot guide (S11 & S11.4 on WMP9):

According to "KCK", InCD 35240 is stable. Download from here:

Thanks for the info but after installing InCD 35240 the same problem is
still occuring.

Does InCD require special drivers for Fujitsi CD/DVD Rewriters.

All that the page at first URL seems to be talking about is problems with
the Adaptec ASPI layer and conflicts with other burning software but since I
had no Adaptec or Windows ASPI layer or other burning software installed to
begin with to begin with that cannot be the problem.

Support for drives requires no drivers.

Stupid of me, the first thing to check is the supported drives.
According to this the following Fujitsu's are supported - but then the
"supported since" column is blank. This leads me to believe that
Fujitsu's are not explicitly supported.

http://www.nero.com/en/ns4_recorders.php?manu=Fujitsu&lang=en

M2513E IDE/ATAPI
MCD3130AP-RBC IDE/ATAPI
MCE3064SS SCSI
MCF3064AP IDE/ATAPI

(InCD 4 has what Ahead calls " SmartDetect" for automatic detection of
new drives. But then InCD 4 comes only with Nero 6.)

(If it's any consolation, Roxio does not even list Fujitsu.)

I downloaded Nero 6 and then installed InCD 4 and that allowed me to format
and write to UDF disks on my sisters laptop without any problem. I can also
read them using Packet CD on my own PC.

Had to borrow a registration number though, but considering my sister paid
for Nero 5 I think the least I'm entitled to are the latest drivers.

Thanks.
