A good friend of mine claims that any burner can write and re-write and that
record only burners never existed.
I used to have an early model Matshita CW-7502 CD-R burner, that only
recorded and would not re-write. The CD-R/RW burners were available, but at
an extra cost.
Can anybody please confirm, that CD-R burners were not capable of erasing
and re-writing on a CD/RW's.

Than you
R

He's wrong - there were indeed CD-R only machines. Especially before
CD-RW was introduced!

Thats wrong.

Some examples:

ymaha 100/102
teac 50/55
philips 2000/2600
kodak pcd 225
mitsumi 2601/2801

and many other (very old) 2x cd-writers.

Any ACTUAL cd-writer would rewrite.

Tschau, Jens
