Firmware flash on dead LG CRD-8522B

Hello,

The Intel Application Accelerator coming with the MB, destroyed the
firmware on my LG CRD-8522B CD-ROM drive and the BIOS stopped to find
it.

The LG CD-ROM Drive Flash Program, Ver. 3.20 (V7.EXE) detects a
unknown drive, but stops the execution with the error message "Data in
CD-ROM has incorrect check sum...". The MTKFLASH.EXE utility seems to
be incompatible with LG drives or at least with this one and stops
responding.

If somebody knows a way to flash the firmware on the dead drive,
please help.
